The past few days, this customer raised case number 12827259 for the same and got the answer below

For data item TR.TotalReturn it is calculated based on the instrument currency only.
Currently, we do not have the functionality to change the currency in Excel or Python API.
However, you may use the TRTR app on Eikon where you can change the valuation currency.
Kindly type in TRTR in your Eikon toolbar to launch the app.
