Ekion Proxy runnning as a service

Hi,

Q1. We have Ekion login access, but it is restricted to one machine at a time. Some times we are going to use api and UI both, right now we are not doing it in parallel (may be we may do also). When we login into UI, that proxy server gets logged out in running machine, It will cause our cron jobs to make api calls. Do you have any solution for this.

Q2.Can we run this Exion proxy login as a service?

Q3.Is there any session time out for Ekion proxy server?

Q4. Is there any way to skip proxy server to make API calls?

Thanks,

Uday

    Hi Uday,

The Eikon API Proxy will be merged into the main Eikon build. Which means you will not need to run to separate applications; you will just need to run Eikon and then start your proxy. This will mean you can use the API and the UI at the same time without being logged out. This will be after the beta period (Q417). Until then you can only use either the UI or the API.

The API is part of the Eikon License. You cannot automate the login process or use it as a service. It is expected for the user to be physically running the Proxy on the same PC as their Eikon installation and to be present when making API calls.

The API session has the same life span as the Eikon desktop session - it will log you out on a weekly basis.

If you want to run automated processes or if you want to run the API as a service, then we have products that are better fitted for this use case -but not the Eikon API.

    Regards,

    Jorge
