What does WCA stand for?

As it relates to company information. Also, where can I find documentation about it?

  • WCA is the legacy West authority file for legal entities containing 32 million companies. WCA plays the same role as the newer Organizational Authority (OA). It continues to exist until all product dependencies are removed (Watch, Business Citator, Monitor Suite, etc.), at which time it will be shut down. WCA has all that OA has for entities, plus roughly a million additional entities. Long range plan is for the WCA to migrate to OA. WCA contains mappings to numerous other ids such as OA ids, RIC (Reuters Instrument Code), SIC (Standard Industrial Classification), NAICS (North American Industry Classification System).
