Stands for Thomson Reuters Classification Schema. From [their portal on the HUB][1] "*The Reuters Classification Scheme (RCS) is a central part of Eikon. It is managed by the Metadata Group, which forms part of the Content Marketplace Group (CMG). RCS is gradually being merged into the new Thomson Reuters Classification Scheme (TRCS*)." [1]:

  • Thomson Reuters Classification Schema (TRCS). Equivalent to SmartTerms. A Reuters taxonomy launched to replace legacy taxonomies including News2000 codes. These codes are tagged to Reuters content by journalists and is moving towards auto-classifying as well. The RCS taxonomy includes facets covering general topical areas, as well as language, source and locations. There is a mapping between RCS and Smart Terms.
