Eikon For Developers: Eikon Explorer App vs. Internet Explorer Object

I have created a HTML5 App (http://localhost:9999/
asp_app.asp). If I paste this into the Eikon search box then it opens in 'Eikon Explorer App' and everything looks great. However, if I attempt to open the app from another computer (or my own PC) using http://u0129403-tpl-a:9999/
asp_app.asp then it opens in an 'Internet Explorer Object' and it still works in essence but it has lost visual appeal. Note that if I open 'Eikon Explorer App' and paste http://u0129403-tpl-a:9999/
asp_app.asp into the toolbar then it still opens in an IE Object. Question: how can I force my website to open in the Eikon Explorer App when the site is not hosted on the local machine? Thanks. Tristan.

  • Hi Tristan,

Eikon Explorer has two rendering modes - Chromium and Internet explorer.

Any localhost site resolves in the Chromium Browser, sites deemed as 'external' will use Internet Explorer. In order for it to render using Chromium you would need to have the website/ip added to a whitelist.
