Scaled Down Development Instances of Cobalt & Supporting Services

Hi, Are there any guides for provisioning a version of Cobalt (albeit scaled-down) and the necessary supporting services (e.g. Cobalt modules, Novus Suite Architecture components) similar in concept to the Novus-In-a-Box (NIB)? I've seen references to CI environments so this may be possible. I imagine that there will be a minimum set of components required for a basic Cobalt install and that there are hardware and software dependencies + installation guides (maybe even automated provisioning, e.g. via puppet, et al). What can be done; what can't be done? Many thanks, Dave

Dave, I suppose the answer is - depends on what you are looking to do. Cobalt is a platform that can be utilized to get new products off the ground quickly by re-using prebuilt functionality. It includes a set of guiding principals ([Cobalt Application Framework][1]); deployable modules such as [Session management/Eventing/Delivery/Encryption][2]; hosted services such as [Data Room][3]; [Application Management Suite][4] for application deployment, monitoring and management; and developer tools. The [Central Tech Cobalt Platform][5] hub page has more details on all of these. So instead of thinking in terms of "installation" of Cobalt, I'd start more from a point of view of how specifically you want to use Cobalt. If your aim is to do POCs on some of these modules/services, you don't really need provisioning - most cobalt services are multi-tenant, and as you mentioned you could use the CI environment - probably Legal Shared or Cobalt Services for this. If you'd like a template that demonstartes implementation of Cobalt Guiding principals and TRAMS, you can pull down [HelloCobalt4J][6] or [HelloCobalt4Net][7] from the Corporate source. It has hooks into the TRAMS tooling for demonstartion purpose. If you are looking for code on how to use services, you can check out the [Cobalt AppStarterKits][8] which demonstrates usage of some of these modules. Hopefully this was helpful.
