What would cause a permission change?

Today I started getting an error in the tool I built using
EikonDataAPI (For completeness the tool is also using: ThomsonReuters.Desktop.SDK.DataAccess.Signed.x64 and ThomsonReuters.Udap.Ipc.Signed.x64)

had an issue. Looking into it, the issue was with requesting information related to the instrument ".SPX".

Checking the Eikon desktop application I noticed that I was no longer getting any data back for the instrument but instead I was getting errors all pointing to a permission issue.

(ie. "You have no permission to access the requested instrument "

Note the tool was working all of last month.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hello @evan.lee ,

If my understanding of the question is correct, and your Eikon user id does not have the permission to access .SPX, that it had before, this issue does not appear to be related to API usage, which this forum can be of help with.

To verify the permissions for your Eikon ID, and to request additional permissions, your Refinitiv account team will be the best to help, please reach out to them.

The other possibility is- do you continue experiencing the issue? There have been Refinitiv real-time alerts yesterday, due to planned maintenance, that I see on My Refinitiv -> Service Alerts, that have now been resolved. If the issue does not manifest anymore now, this may have been the cause.

    Hope that this information helps
